Tricia Wilber was promoted to Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales and Promotion, Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, a division of The Walt Disney Company, in April 2004. She oversees all advertising and promotion sales activities within ABC Cable Networks Group. Two sales teams, ABC Family Ad Sales and ABC Kids Ad Sales, report to Ms. Wilber. She joined the Company in 1999 and had been Vice President, Business Development, Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, since 2001. ABC Family Sales includes multiple dayparts on the channel with targeted demographics of Teens and Adults 18-49. ABC Kids Network Sales is a unit comprised of the ABC Television Network Saturday morning daypart, "ABC Kids;" all dayparts on Toon Disney and the kids' JETIX block on ABC Family plus partnership opportunities on Disney Channel. Collectively, ABC Kids Networks spans targeted demographics of Kids 2-14. In her role as Vice President, Business Development, Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, Ms. Wilber was responsible for projects that added value to the business unit including revenue growth opportunities and cost savings efficiencies encompassing the integration of the international division into a worldwide organization. She worked closely on the restructuring the business unit and also had a key role in the management of Disney's interest in global television businesses including 22 wholly-owned international Disney Channels and the company's majority interest in the international Fox Kids channels, plus Disney-branded and JETIX-branded programming (formerly known as Fox Kids programming) around the world. From 1999-2001, Ms. Wilber was Vice President, National Accounts, Disney ABC Cable Networks Group. In that role, she was responsible for the management of three national cable affiliate accounts -- Time Warner, Cablevision and Comcast - for the ABC Cable Networks Group. In addition, she directed local sales forces on negotiating and initiating marketing campaigns to support the sales efforts. Prior to joining The Walt Disney Company, Ms. Wilber was employed from 1993-1999 by SNET, a Connecticut-based division of Americast. As Director, Marketing, for that company, she was a key participant in the development of the original cable television business case that led to SNET's entry into the business. She also created marketing and product development and strategic direction to build and continually evaluate the company's cable television business plan. Among her accomplishments there was as a significant contributor in a nine month regulatory process which resulted in the Connecticut DPUC granting SNET the first statewide cable television franchise and competitive cable offering. Ms. Wilber holds a bachelor of arts in History from Brown University. She is a Board Member for Lifetime Magazine; for the New York chapter of Women in Cable and Telecommunications; and the International Council of NATAS. She and her husband Robert are parents of two children and reside in Connecticut. |
