Michael Healy is Senior Vice President, Original Movies, Disney Channel, and is responsible for supervising the development of the hugely successful Disney Channel Original Movie franchise which includes the popular and award-winning "The Cheetah Girls," "Full Court Miracle," "Gotta Kick It Up," "A Ring of Endless Light" and "The Color of Friendship."

Healy joined Disney Channel in October of 1997 as Vice President, Original Movies. Previously, he was director of motion pictures-for-television for CBS, working on all stages of movie making for the network, where he worked on more than 50 movies including "Captive Heart: The James Mink Story," "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story," "Bachelor's Baby" and "The Family of Cops" franchise.

Prior to that, Healy was vice president for movies for television and mini-series for Reeves Entertainment where he put seven movies into network development in his first twelve months on the job. He was also director of development for movies for television and mini-series for Warner Brothers Television.

Healy began his career as a writer at The Courier Express in Buffalo, New York, and was a movie critic for The Denver Post and The Daily News of Los Angeles.

Healy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Canisius College and a Master of Arts degree from Harvard University.
